I was simply overwhelmed by the hospitality shown to us by the extremely polite staffs of the different hotels in Switzerland we went to. We were treated to some excellent cuisine prepared by the hotel’s chefs who had a knack for dishing out something out of the ordinary. I was really impressed by the different cheese preparations in particular. My visit to Lucerne was eventful in the sense that it was my first taste of original Swiss cheese. We were a group of five people and all of us were quite taken in by the scenic views of the wonderful scenery that the Swiss Alps are well famous for. The staff in the hotels of the city show extreme courteousness which is representative of the Swiss hospitality famous the world over.

It was a tango festival called MuSaCa. It was rollicking fun to be part of an age old traditional festival even though I did not follow much about what the noise was all about as I had sipped a few extra pegs of the local liquor they offered me. Sarah one of Ana’s friends owns a few apartment hotels in Geneva so I was not required to make advance room reservations. The service staff in most hotels in Geneva is multilingual taking care of the needs of most international travelers. It was absolute fun to have finally tasted Swiss cheese.

We were provided with timely services and the housekeeping was given strict instructions to do the beds before we left for the day which they very willingly complied with. I am going to remember my trip to Switzerland as much for the fabulous scenery as for the excellent services and dining experience provided by the staff in the two hotels Geneva I stayed in. The two hotels were absolute contrasts to each other in terms of ambience and décor. But, the hospitality was one and the same ‘exquisitely Swiss’. I had a whisk of Swiss White wine which was soothing to the throat! Black tea is something well served by the restaurant staff at the hotels Geneva. Geneva hotels were a lesson on hospitality. My stay in the different hotels of the city was wonderfully pleasant and comfortable. It was a lovely time in the hotels. The hospitality experience was further enhanced by the superb warmth shown by the staff at the hotels. It made you feel like being part of a huge big family. The balcony in my hotel room opened to the sunlight and it was just too good to feel the sun shine on you in the cool breeze of the fresh air. I believe one should take time to indulge in some sunny climate and fresh mountain air of the Alps which is considered good cure for the body and soul. I am looking forward to another visit to the Alp land especially to feel the warmth of the excellent hospitality offered by the courteous and polite staff in some beautiful fabulous Geneva hotels.

A journey to Switzerland is all about enjoying good food especially bread with lavish spreading of various jams such as strawberry, quince, fig, plum and orange flavors.
